Dog Day Afternoon

Ok - So I think that was an Al Pacino  film from 1975, but we had our own “dog day” at Atlantic Creative.  We are privileged to be working on a PSA for Cause for Paws.  Once our team developed some killer ideas we started looking for talent - human and canine.  Since we’re not in Hollywood we shouldn’t have been surprised that there are not a large number of dogs that are trained actors - or dog wranglers!  So we recruited through our network, 8 dogs including mutts and pure breds, and even brought in a dog trainer from Pennsylvania.  It was quite a shoot with a German Shepherd, Borzoi, Gotti Pit Bull, Labrador Retriever and a bunch of mutts running around.  And, let me tell you, our guys worked hard corralling these dogs - the ones that were supposed to bark wouldn’t and the dogs that were supposed to be quiet were barking, totally unpredictable. Where’s Lassie and Air Bud when you need them?   But through their efforts and creativity we know the final product will be awesome - we’re all secretly hoping that our dog is the star!  This has given the rest of the team a little look into what it takes to make a great video, and a new appreciation for all those talking dog films, like Beverly Hills Chihuahua I and II.

As a special treat Woof Gang Bakery donated delicious treats - at least I think they were delicious, I didn’t try them, but all the dog “stars”  loved them

So be on the lookout on local TV and the web for the PSA for Cause for Paws.  And in case you want to learn more about Cause for Paws - check them out online.
